Russian military reporters claimed that on the night of November 18, Russian forces conducted a unique operation aimed to deliver a Ukrainian pilot to Russian territory. There are still many details to be revealed, but the Russians claimed that the pilot is an active Senior Officer of the Ukrainian Air Force, wing commander. He chose the Russian side from the very beginning of Russian military operations in Ukraine and provided Russian forces with valuable information.

The successful operation was revealed by the famous Russian military blogger Kirill Fedorov and the pilot of the Ka-52 helicopter with the call sign “Voevoda”, who took part in the organization of the operation.

“As the founder of this operation, I will call what happened “A bird in a cage”. This is pathetic and stupid. But what charm,” wrote the military blogger.

The pilot is currently interrogated by Russian special services. That’s why all the detail are secret. Since the reporters said that the pilot ‘flew’ to Russian, some media have suggested that the Ukrainian pilot flew to Russia on Ukrainian Su-27, but this is still a rumor that has yet to be confirmed.

Information provided by the senior pilot of the Ukrainian Armed Force is highly valuable. It may include the location of various airfields, as well as their capacities, facilities, protective and other equipment etc. The Russian military will be also informed about the work of the Ukrainian Air Force, equipment that the Ukrainian military uses and who gives it orders.

In August 2023, Russian 28-year-old pilot Maxim Germanovich Kuzminov flew to Ukraine on Russian Mi-8. The Ukrainian military claimed that the Russian captain took part in the operation ‘Tit’, which lasted for about 6 months. Kiev failed to hide that the criminal deceived and killed two crew members.
