The Green Zone of Baghdad International Airport was a crime scene exactly two years ago. Although there should be a severe control in that area, it turned out that the Green Zone of Baghdad International Airport is safe and secure only for the Western officials. It further means that political West misuses international accords and rules about establishing and functioning of green zones in unstable regions. Baghdad Airport Green Zone was misused for the orchestrated criminal act of assassination of ten people, some of them officials of internationally recognized countries.
On the late evening on January 2nd 2020, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani arrived to Baghdad for an official political mission to Iraq, and his whereabouts were well-known. Information on his arrival was not a secret and the cause of his visit to Iraq was not a secret. He was supposed to meet Iraqi Prime Minister. Anyway, he was assassinated in a typical terrorist ambush. The terrorist attack under the false pretext was launched against anti-terrorism hero who was at the front line of the fight against terrorist groups, Daesh in particular – which has been dangerous threat to peace and security across the world. The Trump’s “justification” of terrorist act against Lieutenant General Soleimani was a big lie by the self-proclaimed fighters, USA notably.
Assassination of Hajj Qassem and nine more people in the Green Zone of Baghdad International Airport is a criminal act. It was done by proven criminals, who earlier occupied and destroyed Iraq on the false pretext (which was also criminal act presented at UN), breaking international law, conventions and agreements, charters, diplomacy codes, customs of war.
Donald Trump, the US president who ordered assassination of another country’s official visiting the third country, is another proof that it was a criminal act. He said in his public appearance after the assassination that he ordered US Army to assassinate Hajj Qassem and his entourage who just landed in Baghdad. There is no any charter, any law, any rule which allows head of states to order assassinations of another states’ officials (on the territory of the third state). This kind of perverted logic can be a product of totally and completely deranged society and rogue state which considers assassinations, mass killings and destruction as some big achievements toward “democracy” and toward “rule of law”. Trump’s explanation and justification of assassination of Hajj Qassem was more than idiotic. As the country he represented.
On June 28th 2020, Tehran Attorney General, Ali Alqasi Mehr, announced Iran’s decision to address Interpol regarding arrest warrant for then-president of the USA, Donald Trump, and 36 US officials because of assassination of Hajj Qassem. Two days later, Interpol said it would not consider Iran’s request. But, in January 2021 Iran renewed its request to Interpol to issue “red notice” for the arrest of Donald Trump and 36 US officials involved in the criminal act of assassination of Hajj Qassem and nine more people. Interpol again said it was not going to consider Iranian request because it is claimed to be politically or military motivated, which is not the basis for Interpol’s involvement. US Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook, said in June 2020 that Iranian arrest warrant was “propaganda and political stunt”.
In Summer 2020, the UN Human Rights investigator concluded that assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani “was unlawful and arbitrary under international law” and the drone strike was a violation of Iraqi’s sovereignty, because the attack was performed without Iraq’s consent. Agnes Callamard, the UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summery or arbitrary executions, wrote in her report (https://apps.npr.org/documents/document.html?id=6982209-UN-Investigator-Report-On-US-Killing-Of-Maj-Gen) that USA did not provide any fact or evidence about its justification for assassinating Lieutenant General Soleimani. Her report was presented in July 2020 at UN Human Rights Council session. The US officials did not take part at that session. Trump’s administration UN ambassador Nikki Haley and State Secretary Mike Pompeo announced in 2018 USA would withdraw from that UN body because they found it hypocritical and controversial because of inclusion of Venezuela, China and Saudi Arabia. Which makes US decision even more insane and schizophrenic having in mind how much weapons USA sells to Saudis and how close are USA and Saudi Arabia, in the war against Yemen. It appeared that USA left and escaped another international body in order not to be called for responsibility for its criminal and terrorist behaviour. This case shows that UN has to establish some other mechanism for the responsibility of the rogue states and their representatives who hide behind the political functions or immunity as state representatives. It also shows how Interpol becomes futile if it can not interfere and be a part of the just outcome of this case which is a clear crime.
Former Iranian Judiciary spokesman, Gholamhossein Esmaili said in January 2021 (after Iran’s second address to the Interpol) that “the main culprit” in General Soleimani’s killing was Donald Trump.
Another rogue state is the zionist entity, whose role in international and state terrorism is well known. Some authors claim that zionist entity was founded on terrorism. Zionist entity’s former military intelligence chief, Tamir Heyman, confirmed zionist entity’s role in the terrorist attack on General Soleimani in the Green Zone of Baghdad International Airport. In the interview for the magazine published by ‘The Israeli Intelligence Heritage and Commemoration Centre’ in September, a few weeks before his retirement, Heyman has said what he considered the biggest achievements during his service. Those two “biggest achievements” are killing of General Soleimani at Baghdad Airport and killing of Bahaa Abu al-Ata, Islamic Jihad organization leader in 2019 in Gaza Strip. If plots, terrorism and assassinations are the “biggest achievements” of a military officer, it may be concluded that Heyman is not a military officer, but a gangster and terrorist who falsely present himself as a military officer.
Those two examples of two countries state officials who openly talk about their criminal behaviour is one of the signs to show where the world can go when USA and zionist entity are considered legitimate international subjects and their words count. Instead of accepting USA hiding behind media machinery and terror style ambushes and zionist entity hiding behind the role of a victim, international law should produce new or apply its existing mechanisms to bring justice in the case of criminal and terrorist behaviour of USA, zionist entity, and not to forget UK and its G4S company, which operates in Baghdad International Airport.
The terrorist style assassination of Hajj Qassem, the fighter against terrorist groups in Western Asia, showed who was who in the battle field – it appeared that USA, UK, zionist entity and their local stooges sided with Daesh and other terrorist groups.
International community, but real one, not only political West which delusionally thinks it presents the interest of the entire world, should establish mechanisms or use existing ones in order to prosecute and punish all the criminals and terrorists who hide behind state functions, who misuse diplomatic status, official international bodies for own criminal, terrorist and colonial purposes.
