Catholic Priest Arrested After Going Inside Clinic to Save Babies From Abortion Steven Ertelt LifeNews.com

Four protesters — including a Catholic priest — were arrested Friday during a non-violent demonstration to save unborn babies from abortion. Police arrested four pro-life advocates during the Red Rose Rescue, including Fr. Fidelis Moscinski, a 51-year-old priest from New York City.

“This morning at approximately 11:00am, pro-lifers entered the Northeast Ohio Women’s Center, abortion clinic, 2127 State Street, Cuyahoga Falls, to talk to women scheduled for abortions,” pro-life organizers told LifeNews.com.

The Red Rose Rescue involves pro-life advocates peacefully entering an abortion facility and offering information and encouragement to the women inside. Some pro-life advocates refuse to leave the facility until forced to do so by law enforcement. They believe that refusing to leave is an act of solidarity with the unborn babies who are scheduled to be killed by abortionists.

“In an act of solidarity with the unborn about to be aborted, the pro-lifers refuse to leave the clinic should they be ordered to do so by law-enforcement, offering an act of non-violent defense of unborn children—which may result in their arrests,” a pro-life group said prior to the arrests. “Pray especially for those threatened with the lethal violence and exploitation of abortion, and those committing these heinous crimes against humanity.”

“Once inside the abortion facility, they quietly approach mothers seated in the waiting room and offer them red roses as a symbol of life. Attached to each rose is a card which states: “You were made to love and to be loved… your goodness is greater than the difficulties of your situation. Circumstances in life change.  A new life, however tiny, brings the promise of unrepeatable joy.” Phone numbers of local pregnancy help centers are printed on the card’s reverse side,” the pro-life group added.

The four arrested individuals will be arraigned in Stow Municipal Court. If convicted, they each face a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail, along with a $500 fine.

Monica Migliorino Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society who has participated in Red Rose Rescues, explains: “The Red Rose Rescue is an act of charity for women who feel, for whatever reason; they must have their innocent unborn children killed. Those who take part are willing to embrace risks for these women and their babies. We will go into the very places where the unborn are put to death and extend help to the moms. Should this help be refused—we will not leave the abortion centers but remain in solidarity with the helpless victims oppressed by the injustice of abortion. Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta said that her work was “to go into the dark holes of the poor.”  The Red Rose Rescue is an action of going into the dark holes of the poor—namely abortion clinics where the innocent are rejected—and in these dark holes we seek to bring hope, true peace and the presence of God.”

There have been more than a dozen similar demonstrations in the United States since 2017, according to the pro-life group. In June, four pro-life advocates were arrested at an abortion facility in Michigan after another Red Rose Rescue.

Another group was arrested in June 2019.
