Mariupol, Apr 28 – DAN. Trade and economic relations are already in effect between the Donetsk People’s Republic and Ukrainian areas controlled by the Russian armed forces, DPR Head Denis Pushilin told journalists during his visit to Mariupol on Thursday.
“This work (trade and economic relations with Ukrainian areas controlled by the Russian army – eds Donetsk News Agency) is already underway; product exchange is already running in the test mode; the DPR ships products to those destinations and they supply their products here,” Pushilin said.
The DPR will step up this work. “Of course, Kherson vegetables and water melons will be supplied to the DPR,” he said.
On Thursday, the DPR leader made a working trip to Mariupol. He visited the seaport, talked with its personnel and inspected port facilities and ships berthed there. He also visited the “United Russia” humanitarian aid center in the Ecomarket area.
Earlier, the DPR/LPR United Economic Council permitted economic entities from the Kharkov, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to ship goods purchased from Russian residents via the Donbass Republics customs space. These goods cannot be sold in the Republics and have to leave the DPR/LPR customs space within five working days after registration. The transit right does not apply to alcohol and tobacco.
