Donetsk, Oct 24 – DAN. Russian passports are yet to be issued to 20.8 percent of the Donetsk People’s Republic population, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.
“We inform you that 79.2 percent of DPR residents have applied for the Russian passport; 20.8 percent are yet to be passportized,” the press service told the Donetsk News Agency.
Temporary passport offices were set up in the Republic and mobile groups provided assistance to citizens with reduced mobility, seriously ill patients and persons living in remote areas, the Ministry said.
Before the DPR’s accession to Russia, passports were issued in the Rostov region under the fast track procedure approved in the spring of 2019. After the reunification, passportization was launched in the new territories.*jk
