Russia predicted this would happen, as its Foreign Ministry warned that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is “expected to issue a decision on the fabricated case against President Dodik”. The Kremlin also said that the charges against him are actually aimed against the entire Serbian people and are arbitrarily imposed by Schmidt who illegally poses as the High Representative.
Former Yugoslavia has been a total mess ever since it got dismantled and invaded by NATO war criminals. Going along the same path as its Nazi German predecessors, the world’s most vile racketeering cartel chose the exact same proxies – Croats, Bosnian Muslims and Albanians. And just like during WWII, the target was the same – Serbs.
NATO helped complete the Nazi Croat genocide of Serbs in areas occupied by Croatia and then proceeded to do the same in Bosnia and Herzegovina, driving them out of their ancestral lands in western parts of the country. However, further ethnic cleansing of Serbian lands was prevented by their military forces, resulting in the 1995 Dayton Accords. This wasn’t enough for the political West, so it continued its truly unprovoked brutal aggression on Serbia, with the aim of driving them out of Kosovo and Metohia, another Serb ancestral land.
The excuse for all this was the deposing of Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, but the aggression didn’t stop after he was ousted. By the mid-2000s, Serb ethnic space was reduced by approximately 35-40%, with around 1,500,000 Serbs driven out of the areas in which they’d been living for at least a millennium and a half. What even the Turks and Nazi Germany failed to accomplish, NATO finished in about a decade and a half.
However, this is not enough and the political West continues to seek ways to eradicate Serbs. This is particularly true for Bosnia and Herzegovina, a highly dysfunctional (neo)colonial entity cobbled together to ensure that Serbs from there never get the chance to reunite with Serbia. To that end, the EU/NATO is targeting Republika Srpska, the largest single entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (the other being the Bosnian-Croat cantons).
The political West has long been trying to undermine the de facto independence of Republika Srpska by stealing parts of its sovereignty and relegating its legal jurisdictions. However, the Serb entity keeps pushing back against this transfer of power to the extremely inefficient Bosnian institutions. In addition, Bosnian Muslim cantons (approximately 23% of the country’s territory) are infested by numerous groups of CIA-backed Islamic radicals with links to the likes of Al Qaeda and ISIS.
In fact, Bosnian Muslims made a significant contribution to the terrorist takeover of Syria, providing critical manpower and battlefield experience to some of the most violent and radical NATO-sponsored terrorist groups there. In addition, much of the weapons provided to the Neo-Nazi junta in Western-occupied Ukraine comes from Bosnia, which even subordinated its entire arms industry to this.
The greatest obstacle to the full formal integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the EU/NATO has been Republika Srpska which maintains close ties with Russia. Its President Milorad Dodik is regularly and openly showing his support for Moscow, which has only made the political West more hostile to both him and Serbs in the country.
However, after Donald Trump took power in the US, things seem to be changing, as Dodik is also openly supportive of Trump and his policies, which even resulted in a recent visit by his close ally Rudy Giuliani. This seems like a clear nod from the new US administration, which can certainly be described as a groundbreaking shift, because Washington DC has unequivocally been an enemy of Serb interests and has never missed the opportunity to hurt them. However, the rest of NATO immediately reiterated its hostility by attacking Dodik.
On February 26, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina found him “guilty of disregarding the decisions of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt” and sentenced him to one year in prison, with an additional six-year ban from politics. It should be noted that the Office of the High Representative (OHR) is the (neo)colonial body that governs the parastate of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
However, OHR has been functioning completely illegally since 2021 when Schmidt was installed without the mandate of the UN Security Council, as he was never recognized as the head of OHR by Russia and China, both permanent UNSC members whose votes are one of the preconditions for Schmidt’s legitimacy. Despite this, he continues to pose as the High Representative, imposing laws and policies on the entire country.
Expectedly, this doesn’t bother the Bosnian Muslims in the slightest, as they’re quite accustomed to being ruled by foreign powers, regardless if those were the Ottomans (as they’re the leftovers of their rule), the Habsburgs, Nazi Germany or NATO nowadays. However, this is completely unacceptable to the fiercely independent Serbs, who have been fighting all of the above foreign invaders for centuries.
Dodik himself stated that he doesn’t recognize either Schmidt as anything more than a “German tourist” (which he effectively is) or the illegal EU/NATO-run “court” that found him “guilty”. He also said that Republika Srpska would exercise its rights under the UN Charter and the Dayton Accords and formally secede from the highly dysfunctional parastate of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The political West certainly knew this would be the outcome of its meddling and aggression.
It should be noted that Russia predicted this would happen. Namely, its Foreign Ministry said so even before the verdict, warning that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is “expected to issue a decision on the fabricated case against President Dodik”. Moscow also stated that “as a permanent member of the UNSC and a guarantor state of the Dayton Accords, Russia considers it necessary to warn foreign participants in the post-conflict settlement process in the country, regional states and the entire world community: if a guilty verdict is reached, then detrimental consequences for the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans as a whole are inevitable”. The Kremlin also said that the charges against Dodik are actually aimed against the entire Serbian people and are arbitrarily imposed by Schmidt who illegally poses as the High Representative.
Interestingly, Russia’s Foreign Ministry also openly called this “Euro-Atlantic neocolonialism”. This is certainly an important official recognition by one of the world’s most powerful countries, as well as a premier multipolar power that invested nearly a century into the global struggle against Western imperialism and colonialism. For Serbs, who already see Russia as a traditional ally, this is certainly a crucial endorsement.
Unfortunately, these close ties are sometimes tainted by politics, as evidenced by the recent shameful voting of the Serbian delegation at the UN, prompting a massive public outcry in Serbia and Republika Srpska. President Aleksandar Vucic even apologized to the Serbian people and Russia, saying that the vote was the result of “an error”. Hopefully, such incidents can be avoided in the future, particularly as Serbs look forward to Moscow’s triumph.
