For the past twenty years every 9/11 anniversary, American media goes into a frenzy with news and media outlets expressing America’s pain and suffering caused by “Islamist radicals” to a bubble which is ‘US exceptionalism’.
It is also an important date for the international community, as it marks the orientalist global war on terror initiated by US and NATO allies as a pretext to carry out military attacks against the rest of the world in an unending “war without borders” for global conquest.
US General Wesley Clark stated in a 2007 Democracy Now interview that the Bush Administration started bombing Afghanistan just after 9/11 and had already laid out plans to attack Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and finally Iran.
The 9/11 attacks were framed as “The deadliest attacks in the annals of terrorism,” according to a RAND 2011 report. The report and media frenzy riddled with notions of “white privilege” dismisses the long list of war crimes carried out by NATO forces in retaliation for these attacks, exposed in Julian Assange’s Afghan Diary and the 2019 Afghan Papers, highlighting the death of over 71,000 civilians.
It is also a time when the American and British political elite use the 9/11 official narrative to justify and reinforce the war on terror policies against any opposition deemed as a threat to Western hegemonic objectives.
In a recent speech marking September 11, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair warned President Biden to not lose confidence in using military force to defend and export their values, as the “West still faces the threat of 9/11 style attacks by radical Islamist groups.”
Blair was speaking after Washington’s humiliating defeat by the Taliban, heralding according to many political analysts the end of the American Empire and influence. Germany’s Angela Merkel backed by France’s Emmanuel Macron has also indicated that EU cannot rely on America and needs “a real, true European army.”
The fact that Washington had not carried out any “nation building” and left the country in shambles, highlighted its real mission in Afghanistan, to weaken Eurasia and China. America’s strategy failed, and one of the main reasons was that the United States refused to accept the changes in the geo-political landscape in the region.
Russian Philosopher Aleksandr Dugin, whose influential books are being banned in the West, argues that western civilisation has gone “insane strategically, morally, intellectually”. He states that America’s latest defeat means “the end of the unipolar world, of liberal globalisation and of the pathological alliance of NATO military bases…”
Irrespective of its failures, the US is not giving up its war on terror strategy, urged on by the military industrial complex. President Biden’s August 16th speech has already indicated that US needs to go after Al Qaeda in “Somalia”, “Syria”, “Iraq” and “multiple countries in Africa and Asia”.
It is a tragedy as Hegel points out when “the only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history”, which is the case with the US. It failed in Afghanistan, in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Venezuela amongst others. Its policies have killed and wounded millions, and according to a report by Brown University’s Costs of War Project (2020) displaced over 37 million people. Therefore, it is no surprise that a 2014 global survey conducted by WIN/Gallup of 68 countries, the United States was voted as the biggest threat to world peace.
While the US is still aiming to go after ‘terrorists’ the issue of accountability needs to be addressed for millions of innocents, dead, disabled and displaced. Who is going to pay for these crimes and be held accountable?
If the Afghan Papers revealed the extent to which US military elites and Congress had been lying to the American public, or the evidence for war with Iraq was a ‘fabricated dossier,’ then it is also possible that the same people have been lying about 9/11 to continue the forever endless wars.
The official 9/11 narrative is that two aluminum airplanes smashed into the Twin Towers turning steel columns into dust, and in the hot burning rubble a Saudi passport belonging to the hijackers was found unscathed with a copy of the Qur’an.
However, the official story has been exposed as flawed by thousands of ‘Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth’ who have proved though science and physics that the attacks were a result of controlled demolition and not two aluminium planes that resulted in melting steel.
The official version promoted through media, documentaries and Hollywood films also states that Osama bin Laden was living in some cave in Afghanistan, equipped with the latest technology to carry out attacks against the West.
In 2001 a CBS investigative report stated that on the night before 9/11 Bin Laden suffering from kidney disease was being given kidney dialysis treatment in a hospital in Pakistan. And according to a report in a Pakistani newspaper, December 26, 2001, bin Laden had died in mid-December. Which had been affirmed by a “prominent official in the Afghan Taliban movement” who had “attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial.”
American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh stated in an interview on an Arab TV channel that Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed on the orders of US Vice President Dick Cheney after she had given an interview in 2007 stating that Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was already dead. There are many official sources in Pakistan who had said the same thing regarding Bin Laden’s death.
However, such reports did not faze the hunt for Bin Laden who President Obama stated was active and carrying out terror attacks. In 2011 Obama needed to extend drone attacks from Afghanistan to Pakistan, therefore US forces attacked a compound near Rawalpindi, where they believed bin Laden was hiding out. Apparently, Osama bin Laden was killed, and his body was thrown into the sea before anyone could verify if it was really him.
According to Jason Burke who as The Observer’s chief reporter and author of “Al-Qaeda – casting a shadow of terror” writes: “Al-Qaeda in fact does not exist. It was made up in January of 2001 in order to prosecute Osama Bin Laden in his absence. Under the law if such an organization exists then the head of the organization can be prosecuted.”
In his analysis he wrote, “there is no international network with a leader, with cadres who will unquestioningly obey orders with tentacles that stretch out to sleeper cells in America, in Africa and in Europe”.
Another baffling incident occurred on 9/11 that puts into question the integrity of news outlets; Jane Stanley while reporting live on BBC announced the collapse of the Salomon building (World Trade Center 7) a half hour before it did, the footage shows the building behind her is still up undamaged. Which means she must have been given a pre- written script to read out.
There is also the question of the 2.3 trillion US dollars that disappeared from the Pentagon according to a televised statement by Donald Rumsfeld a day before 9/11. And conveniently the area that was hit by a missile or explosives since no airplane debris like tail, voice recorder, wings, seats, and luggage was found, was where the accounts of the missing money were kept.
There was also the well reported incident of the ‘dancing Israeli’s who were caught filming the attacks on the twin towers and who later stated on Israeli TV that they were there “to document the event”, indicating they had foreknowledge.
Also, many Israeli’s working as Mossad agents were arrested by the FBI with box cutters, thousands of cash and foreign passports and whose vans tested positive for explosives. But all were released to go back to Israel while FBI and CIA went after hundreds of Muslims viewed as terrorist sympathizers, imprisoning, and torturing them without access to lawyers.
US Intelligence Asset Susan Lindaur in her book “Extreme Prejudice: The Terrifying Story of the Patriotic Act and the Cover-ups of 9/11 and Iraq” provides evidence that CIA affiliates were aware of Mossad’s involvement in 9/11 and how the US government heavily influenced by pro- Israel politicians like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld were willing to kill thousands of its own citizens and used dangerous methods to silence whistleblowers.
There have been many valid investigations regarding the 9/11 attacks linking the US government with Mossad’s involvement, but the corporate media, google and western politicians continue to subvert the facts. However, the only positive factor in this tragic story is that as US declines in power and influence so will its flawed 9/11 narrative.
