The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a health advisory Thursday about the Marburg virus outbreak in Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania. They have warned doctors that they must watch for symptoms and possible Marburg infections.
The CDC’s warning says that although there are no cases in the United States and the current risk is low, healthcare providers should be on the lookout for any imported cases. The CDC added that providers who suspect that someone is sick with the Marburg virus should take a detailed travel history. The patient should be managed under isolation until there is a negative test, and the local health department should be contacted immediately, according to a report by CNN.
Marburg virus is not contagious until symptoms appear. These can include fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, gastrointestinal symptoms and unexplained bleeding.
It can spread through contact with an infected person’s blood and other body fluids or through fluids from infected animals. It does not spread through the air like the virus that causes Covid-19. –CNN
CBS News also reported on Marburg citing the same CDC warning. The reports said we need to be aware of two growing outbreaks of Marburg virus disease in Africa and doctors should begin reaching out to some arriving travelers to the U.S. to watch for symptoms of the Ebola-like viral hemorrhagic fever.
Similar to its close relative Ebola, Marburg begins with common symptoms like fever and headaches before progressing to increasingly severe issues like diarrhea, “massive hemorrhaging” and organ failure. Around half of patients with identified cases die in outbreaks, on average, the World Health Organization estimates. –CBS News

The Australian ruling class has also issued a warning concerning the Marburg virus.
Travelers planning to visit Tanzania, Uganda, and Gabon have been warned to “exercise a high degree of caution” by the government, due to an outbreak of the Marburg virus.
Part of the same family as the Ebola disease, Marburg is a highly infectious viral hemorrhagic fever. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the fatality rate can be up to 88 percent. -New Zealand Herald
“The Tanzanian Government has confirmed an outbreak of Marburg virus in the Bukoba District in Kagera Region,” says the SmartTraveller website, which is part of Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. “You should take steps to reduce potential exposure to the virus, including practicing good hygiene and avoiding high-risk activities.”
Now that the establishment is pushing the narrative, we should probably watch and see how this unfolds.
