Watching news reports over the last eighteen months, it’s gotten to the point where I find myself asking rhetorical questions on a nightly basis, sometimes out loud.  These questions include, “Can you believe that?,” “What country is this?,” and “Are those people deranged?”  After months of these questions being posed, I’ve stopped asking and instead simply stating, “We are governed by idiots!”

Obviously, that statement is a conclusion, one that I make without benefit of any formal study or report, focus group involvement, endorsement by a major newspaper, poll results, nor any help from the faculty or oh-so-smart woke students at any elite university.

A reader might protest, “That’s a pretty strong condemnation.  What evidence do you have?”  Let me count the ways.

Approximately eighteen months ago, the world was hit with a new virus, and since little was known about it, our leaders told us we had to stay home, close the schools, close small businesses, close the churches, wear masks everywhere if we did go out, stay six feet apart, shut down major league sports, and just accept the fact that if our elderly family members were dying in a nursing home, we couldn’t visit to say goodbye.  And forget about having a funeral.  But don’t worry, it’s only for fifteen days to slow the spread. But then we were told of the daily case and death counts and the fifteen days increased exponentially.

What we did learn early, is that this virus was dangerous to only seniors, and then mainly the ones with health issues like diabetes and obesity. We also learned that children are hardly in danger from the virus, yet schools had to be closed for an entire school year.

The highest paid federal employee, Dr. Anthony Fauci, earned our mistrust due to his flip-flop on masks, the promotion of policies that were supposed to be science-based but were not, and most recently his lies about the virus’ origin.  He had plenty of company, though.  Hospital administrators were incentivized to pad the number of reported deaths from Covid with a tripling of reimbursement if the death was deemed Covid-caused.  We’ve all seen the reports of motorcycle deaths and gunshot deaths added to the virus-caused category.  Even the PCR testing of reported case has been suspicious.

Now we have reports that the lockdowns did not work, wearing a mask outside is a joke, and masking kids at school for six hours deprives them of oxygen and allows pathogens more dangerous than this virus to accumulate.  And the number of people, who within a few days of being vaccinated are dying, continues to climb.  Even higher is the total of severe illnesses or paralysis of previously healthy people after being vaccinated. Yet, everyone who can get on a network news show, from the president on down, continues to tell us the vaccine is safe and effective.

The government response to the pandemic and the experimental vaccine are probably the leading cause of distrust, but there are many others.

Joe Biden, throughout his fifty years in politics, has always been known as a gaffe machine. He recently told us, “The assault on free and fair elections is just such a threat — literally. I’ve said it before. We’re facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War. It’s not hyperbole — since the Civil War.” He is right.  That’s not hyperbole, and it’s not a gaffe – it is an outright lie.  In a speech in Philadelphia, he also said, “There’s an unfolding assault taking place in America today, an attempt to suppress and subvert the right to vote and fair and free elections,” President Joe Biden claimed on Tuesday. “An assault on democracy, an assault on liberty, an assault on who we are, who we are as Americans.”  More lies, as explained here.

VP Kamala Harris contributed to the mistrust.  After being picked by Biden to address the crisis at the border, it was three months before she went anywhere near it.  Instead of visiting the area of McAllen, Texas, considered to be the focal point for the crisis, she went to El Paso, 800 miles away, where she spoke again of the need to address “root causes” of the problem.  That was nothing more than a lame defense of her trip to Guatemala and Mexico, to find out those root causes.  We still have not seen the report.

Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, gets his share of mistrust and a heavy dose of misbelief by inviting the United Nations to investigate the causes of systemic racism in the United States. Seriously, the U.N.?

The Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, stated on Tuesday that Cuban refugees, fleeing by boat, will not be granted asylum in the U.S. It should be noted that Mayorkas and his family fled Cuba in 1960.  I don’t think the Secretary has taken the same position regarding illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America.

Although not a current administration official, the former HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, thought it necessary to avail us of her wisdom on the current vaccine problem.  Her position is that those of us who choose not to gamble on an experimental shot that has caused thousands of deaths should not be allowed to work or be near children.  She must be campaigning for a high-level post in the Biden administration.

Another of Joe Biden’s dirty deeds was reported by Tucker Carlson Wednesday night.  It seems that Creepy Joe is flying illegals to various states far removed from the border.  And the best part is he is using the military to do it.

Trying for a bit of levity, this administration’s experts on the economy whispered in Joe’s ear that a 4th of July celebration this year costs 16 cents less than last year. And his press secretary was only too eager to repeat the news.  Inflation? What inflation?  Now, do you really trust these clowns to tell the truth about anything regarding the economy?

The FBI has long been a source of American mistrust, even going back to the TWA flight 800 coverup in 1996, documented by author Jack Cashill.  Their latest outrage is asking family members and friends to report suspected “extremists.”  We of course know they are referring to that most dangerous individual, the white male, especially the ones who went to Washington in January.  No mention was made of the thousands of Antifa and BLM terrorists that roamed the streets for months last year and continue to this day. Yet, we continue to be told, even by some conservatives, that the FBI rank and file are okay and it’s just a few at the top that cannot be trusted.  Donald Trump, Carter Page, Michael Flynn, and many other Trump surrogates might disagree.

Another Biden cabinet member, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told a congressional committee in June that, “although he did not think the military is “fundamentally racist,” there is a focus on “diversity, equity, and inclusion.”  Thanks for clearing that up Mr. Secretary.

This is the point where you can ask yourself if there is any Biden cabinet member that is not an America-bashing, leftist.  I can’t think of any.  You would also be forgiven if you can’t think of a single policy or statement by this administration that has had a positive effect on America or its allies.  Seems to be pretty good grounds to not trust the whole lot.
